Couldn’t book a fun getaway with friends this spring break? Well, there are plenty of fun and inexpensive things you can do around where you live—no airplanes, no hotels, you don’t really even need to plan ahead. You can stay in your house or explore the places around you! Either way, you can make this Spring Break an enjoyable one!

Here are 8 activities to do this Spring Break!

1. Go to the nearest City

Explore the areas you’ve never been!

2. Go to the beach

It doesn’t need to be hot out, just enjoy the ocean!

3. Go shopping!!!

Hit the mall, thrift store, any kind of shopping you want!

4. Go to visit your friends at their college

We don’t all have the same break, so take the trip to visit them!

5. Go on a long drive to nowhere

You don’t need a place in mind, just go for a drive with friends!

6. Start a new show

Nothing like a classic TV binge.

7. Find somewhere to hike

Exercise with friends and a view!

8. Try new recipes with friends

Plus you get to eat it after!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
