10 Post-Spring Break Feels You'll Catch Yourself Thinking

Instead of being productive, I continuously catch myself looking at the pictures and videos I have of the better part of my life.

No matter where you go or how crazy your spring break plans might be, there is no doubt that a week-long vacation dismantles all college students the moment they step back on campus. From family vacations to an adventure in another country or a road trip with best friends, the adaption back to school life isn't an easy one.

1. Don't talk to me

Me. Literally. Not that I didn't miss the people I wasn't with, but I am in a post-vacation sadness and need a few months to recover

2. What the f*ck happened

This one goes out to all the kids who did something ~out there~ for break. You get back, and when someone asks how your trip was, all you can say is, well, you're not really sure.

3. Why am I like this

Me, as I trek myself to the library, only to realize I still have my spring break stuff in my backpack instead of notebooks and pencils.

4. Why are you like this mother nature??

Yeah, I kind of forgot that northern places happen to be a bit colder than vacation spots during early March. Go figure.

5. Maybe I'll just cause a scene mid-class

Realizing I must have left most of my brain cells because, for the life of me, I can't wrap my head around what's going on.

6. Why does my professor hate me?

Assignments and/ or exams in basically every class a day or two post-break. Really not a good look.

7. I'm just gonna avoid mirrors for a while

No chance I'm putting on real clothes/ makeup/ shoes/ touching my hair/ face/ existence. Not worth it. It's cold. Sad. Help.

8. *Internally screams*

At everything.

9. Can I please go back

Instead of being productive, I continuously catch myself looking at the pictures and videos I have of the better part of my life.

10. Sorry I forgot to respond lol

Break means you really don't have any responsibility, and to me, that meant disconnecting myself from everyone I wasn't with. Now I forget I actually have to check my phone and keep people up to date. Oops.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
