Whether you are staying home for spring break or going on a vacation to somewhere of your dream, as a college student, you are for sure ready to go on break for a full week, after completing midterms, quizzes and projects. There have been nine or ten weeks of grinding through the pain of classes, meetings, and social events it is time for a week-long nap and an obliteration of Netflix series while maybe hitting the gym a few times.
With spring break coming up, I have decided to dedicate my life to the meaningful things in life, like counting down the hours and minutes until I am out of class on March 9th, and finalizing my packing list two weeks before break has begun.
These next few weeks I have deemed difficult. Classes are getting harder, motivation is going down and my search history consists of “images of Maui” and “images of sandy beaches”. As much as I would love to be studying the different subsections of Anthropology and the history of how peoples came America, this is not my main concern and I would like to be focusing on much more interesting things. The ideal beach body is skewed for me; my reasoning being that I need layers to keep me warm in the snow-covered streets. Spring break cannot come quick enough.
My spring break this year will consist of exactly what I have been looking up: beaches, tanning, and good times with my favorite person, my mother. We will be leaving on Saturday morning, coming back the following Saturday night. I have been longing to be sitting, relaxed on the hot towel, draped down on my beach chair with my sunglasses on, eating pineapple skewers and listening to the waves crash on the beach. There are many ways to spend spring break, most of which do not have to include a beach, but this is my ideal spring break.
As I go on through my college career, I am slowly but surely realizing that my college years will soon be over and I will only have two more spring breaks to enjoy until I am out in the real person world. It makes me realize that I only have two more full weeks to enjoy quality time with my family. Having an older sister and twin sister is awesome, but with having our ages so similar, and being a year apart, time is limited.
However you may be spending your spring break, I would like to give you words of encouragement. Keep going, and going, and going. These weeks will move slowly, but the light at the end of the tunnel is coming our way. Spring break will be here before we know it and Netflix will be propped up on your TV in just a few weeks. Go and power through the tests, the quizzes, projects, and homework assignments; you got this!
Spring break, we will see you soon!
