14 Tips For Planning Your Best Spring Break
Taleah Constantino

Hey friends! As we enter the new school year get ready to start planning your spring break trip!! Woohoo.

Here is my BEST friend in the whole world Dylan and I.

This photo was from our last spring break trip in Myrtle Beach and as you can see from the quality of this picture we go hard.

So here are some helpful tips for booking your spring break from the spring break king and queen!

1. BOOK YOUR TRIP EARLY!

My best friend Dylan and I have just booked our spring break trip to Cabo!!! You may be thinking to yourself " It's August why are you booking so early?" GURLLLLLL, you better book now! August is considered late! You better get on the spring break train before you can't afford it. We were supposed to book in July but ended up booking in August so our trip went up by $50 a night! So book early!!

2. DO NOT BOOK YOUR FLIGHT WITH YOUR SPRING BREAK PACKAGE.

Dylan and I realized that if we booked the flight with the package it was going to cost us $700+ but since we booked the flight separately it was only $400 ish. That $300+ difference will buy you plenty of souvenirs to bring home to the fam, or some extra drinks while you're there.

If you decide to book your flight yourself try to get a one stop flight. They're usually way cheaper and if you can get a stop in a cool city like in Miami or Mexico City, you're in luck. Even if you get a long layover like 16 hours, leave the airport and enjoy the city you're in, you can always leave your bags at the airport they usually have a room you can pay per hour to leave your bag and go explore! So book your flight an extra day early and see where you can take a cool stop!

3. Get yourself an all inclusive package.

Dylan and I were lucky. We got the all inclusive package which included all meals, breakfast, lunch, dinner and ALL ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES! Granted it might be expensive to get the all inclusive plan but trust me I'll be racking up wayyy more than the plan costs in alcoholic beverages alone! So book smart.

4. Make sure you're going with people you trust.

If you're like me, you might black out once or twice on the trip so take someone you trust who will be able to bring you home after a crazy night!

5. If you're going out of the country, make sure someone in your group can speak the language.

One of the best skills in life to have is to speak another language! Thankfully for me Dyl and I both speak Spanish. This is very important. Primarily because if you speak the language you can go to much better places. I've been to Mexico before and they usually take you to the common tourist areas but if ask a tour guide or hotel concierge in their language the bed places around they'll send you off to the best of the best. They'll feel comfortable enough to send you to places where most don't speak English. When I went to Mexico before we got to go to this beautiful underground waterfall where no one else spoke English! And no other tourists were there so use that skill to your best ability! Secondly for safety! If you or your group gets lost is needs help in a place where most people don't speak the language this can be very beneficial! If you tend to go off the tourist path and onto another path you may find yourself or your group in a rut when you can't seem to get back to the hotel, so speaking the language will be very helpful in this case or in case of an emergency!

6. Be very careful!

When going to a place you don't know you've got to be careful! If you don't speak the language try to stay on the path with other tourists and even if you do you might want to stay close by just in case, everywhere is dangerous so keep that in mind even if you don't go too far it can still be very dangerous!

7. Try not to get too wasted.

I'm sure I will get to Mexico and probably drink a lot but I am very careful. I make sure I always know where I am, I always have my phone in hand and I always drink extra water in between so I won't feel so sick the next morning! Plan out who in your group is going to stay sober, to make sure you all don't do something you may regret, make sure you have a ride home!! And don't forget the hotel key.

8. Plan out the days you're going.

Make a schedule as to what you guys are gonna do or where you're gonna go when you get there. It's important to make a schedule mostly when you're going somewhere new. If someone gets lost they'll know where to go next!

9. Pick the right hotel.

We choose a party resort that isn't super crazy though, but they have many choices from relaxation to nonstop partying. Make sure you make the right choice cause you don't want to be a stick in the mud at 5 a.m. when everyone is still drinking and playing loud music.

10. If you can't pay you can't play.

Wise words from the Boyf, if you can't afford to pay off the trip, don't go on the trip. I'm paying mine with a convenient payment plan but if I knew I couldn't make the payments I wouldn't be going on the trip! Be smart with your money, we're all already in debt from school we don't need more on top of it!

11. Make a list now of what you need to pack!

Bring plenty of bathing suits!

12. Don't forget to sight see!

Try to pick a few places to go, do some new things, and try new foods!

13. Know what you can and can't bring on the airplane.

Remember you can only bring a certain number of liquid ounces so try not to pack your full-size conditioner! Here's a secret not everyone knows: YOU CAN BRING NIPS IN YOUR CARRY ON! As many nips as you want! So pack those babies in good!

14. Last but not least HAVE FUN!

Planning your spring break trip is so fun and so is going on it! So have fun and be safe.

Have an extra drink on spring break for me!

Lots of love,

The Queen Of Spring Break

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
