Spring Activities in Auburn

Baseball When the weather is nice, there’s nothing better than an Auburn baseball game at Plainsman Park. It’s always fun to get together with some of your friends, and it’s really convenient that you can walk to the field right after class. Not to mention the fact that nothing goes better with watching baseball than eating a hot dog or chowing down on a frozen lemonade with that not-so-hard earned tiger card money. The perfect Auburn weather, mixed with the slower pace of baseball, makes for an awesome time at the stadium. The Pool By the time April rolls around and classes start winding down, pool season begins. If you’re done with classes early in the day, there’s no reason not to head to the pool and go for a swim. Without a doubt, the Creekside pool is the best and most happening pool in Auburn. But if you just want to relax, read a book, or even get some studying done, there’s plenty of calmer pools around.Chewacla
The number of things to do at Chewacla State Park are endless. If you’re feeling adventurous, you could go hiking on one of several different trails, in addition to a mountain biking trail. You can also go swimming in the lake at the park. And if you’re a little hungry, you can always pack a picnic and go eat at one of the great scenic views inside the park. Chewacla is definitely one of the more popular getalways for Auburn students when the weather gets warmer.

RecreationIf you play golf, spring is definitely the time to play in Auburn. There are a ton of courses to choose from, and Auburn was actually ranked Golf Digest’s number one city in America to play golf in. Auburn’s campus also has plenty of nice tennis courts, if that’s more your style. And instead of heading to that brand new recreation center on campus, you can go for a run outside. It’s definitely more enjoyable than running on a treadmill when the weather is so nice in the Spring.

GrillingIf you’ve got a grill, you are really missing out if you don’t put that thing to good use. Getting some of your friends to come over and grill some hot dogs or hamburgers can be a really good time when the weather warms up. If you have a nice porch, like in Creekside or Aspen Heights, that’s even better. If you aren’t in the mood to go out or do anything crazy, grilling out is a great alternative during the springtime.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
