10 Ways Any Girl Can Spoil Herself On Valentines Day

Not everyone is in a relationship or is near there significant other for Valentine's Day so I decided to create a list of things that we girls could do to celebrate, regardless of what your valentines day situation is.

1. Host a Galentines party

Have all your other single friends over for a party! Just because you don't have a hit date for the night doesn't mean there is any reason to stay in and have no friends. Getting together with friends can be the highlight of the year if you just plan to be doing something super fun.

2. Stay in your PJ's + movie marathon

What ever your type is, you could have a whole day just relaxing on a comfy couch and watching your favorite films.

3. Host a game night

Get together with family and friends and have a night in. Playing Monopoly, Wii or charades could end up being a lot of fun.

4. Give yourself a face mask

Maybe you need something relaxing or calming this valentines day. If this is a day that causes a lot of anxiety or stress I would try and walk away from that by giving yourself a nice facial or even having someone do it for you, if that is in your budget.

5. Have a pancake bar + lots of yummy toppings

It really doesn't have to be pancakes but, you should find yourself a sweet treat that you love eating and spoil yourself today.

6. Craft night

get together with your girlfriends and have a craft night. You could have a paint party, or have a DIY activity for everyone too. There are lots of ideas on YouTube and Pinterest for inspiration.

7. Karaoke party

Who doesn't love embarrassing themselves and having a fun time with friends? Go to a karaoke bar or just sing in your house for some entertainment.

8. Plant something

Bring a little extra joy and color into your room by giving yourself a fun planting project. There is lots of fun planter ideas online or even cute simple designs you could paint on a pot.

9. Have a potluck dinner

Invite all your girlfriends over and have everyone bring something to munch on. It is a fun and easy way for you to try lots of new foods and to get everyone together.

10. Take yourself on a mini shopping spree

Go to one of your favorite stores and treat yourself to your own gift. You don't need someone to give it to you, realize you deserve something special!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
