Two of my favorite things in the entire world are being a southern girl and Sunday mornings spent with God. There is nothing quite like living in the south. I can proudly say that all the cliches you have heard are most likely true. Here in the south we drink our sweet tea out of mason jars, we say please and thank you, and we love a long leisurely stroll where we can watch the world go by. I wrote this poem to capture some of the joy I get out of this southern life.
Southern Sunday Sidewalk
Let's take a walk down the street
Nothing but dirt road under our bare feet
Tossing stones in the creek
I've waited for this day all week
The amazing connection between God and I
Sometimes I can miss it as the days roll on by
Our voices carried on the wind and this is how we talk
Just God and I on this southern Sunday sidewalk
