On Wednesday September 14th 2016 a new force has entered the spotlight and raised their voices on who America should elect to be president of the United States: South Park. South Park created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone premiered their first episode of season 20. In this new episode both candidates were featured as main plot points for this coming season.
Hillary Clinton was linked to being the "Turd Sandwich" candidate while the recurring South Park character Mr. Garrison who had added an oddly tanned orange face since last season to somewhat resemble Donald J. Trump. In this episode the premise of the season was laid out to the audience that the plot would drive from candidates Hillary and Mr. Garrison running against each other to be president. The catch was Mr. Garrison again who is the figure to represent Donald Trump is actively trying to lose the presidential race. Why? Because he knows he can not deliver what he promised if elected. This was hysterically accurate as Donald J. Trump has promised everything from deporting over a million people currently living in the United States to the taking of oil from other countries. He has promised to make Mexico pay for a wall, which the former president of Mexico has even said "Not paying for that f***ing wall".
Hillary Clinton did not get much airtime but knowing the producers work from previous seasons I know the best is yet to come. For now we can only guess what exact flaws and controversies connected with Clinton to convey satire. While I imagine her personal email server would be the most likely there is no real way to guess because Hillary Clinton's entire political career has been littered with controversy. From child soldiers to being a supporter of Goldwater, Matt and Trey will have endless amounts of scandals to choose from.
For now that is all South Park has done in their first episode, yet more is to come. South Park has always had a spotlight in the media with its outrageous comedy that has pissed off many religious folks and parents alike. While the harsh humor seems crude each episode almost always ends with a moral most people forget. The crude and mocking humor really helps point out problems in society bringing them to light and roasting those who deserve it most. With all Trump and Hillary has done in their pasts I hope to see the candidates brought out into the daylight revealing who they really are on the inside. A Republican masquerading as liberal aka Hillary Clinton and an orange fascist named Donald Trump. South Park will be airing almost every week on Wednesday at 10:00 p.m. est/10:30 central. If you find your Wednesday nights are a little lack luster tune in to comedy central and watch South Park tear these two candidates a new one.
Also and most importantly if you do not have TV or your Wednesday nights are always busy either due to work or school that is not a problem.
