Let's be honest...sorority recruitment week is a different world. It is Red Bull, candy, coffee, late nights, lots of smiles, screaming, clapping, tears, and so much more. There is pain, lost voices, blistered feet, and lack of sleep but welcoming home dozens of new members on bid day makes it all worthwhile.
It's difficult to explain the reality of sorority recruitment week to those outside of the Greek community, but I'm going to do my best.
Here are all the ups, downs, and in betweens of sorority recruitment week as told by Ron Swanson.
1. When your recruitment officers ask if you're ready to start the longest week of your life
2. When your recruitment officers remind you to keep smiling
3. Getting hyped to talk about your organization's history like
5. After that sixth cup of coffee kicks in before the last round of the day
6. Finishing a round, losing your voice, chugging a Red Bull and lining up for the next round like
7. Telling all the potential new members why you love your organization and feeling like
8. When you finally get a break to eat (which are few and far between)
9. When you're finally released for the night and crawl into your bed with busted eardrums
10. When your recruitment officers catch you snapchatting
11. Pulling into Taco Bell after a stressful day like
12. Seeing your rush crush on Pref night
13. Finishing the last round of Pref night and looking at your sisters like
14. Getting ready for Bid Day like: can't wait to welcome home the new babies
Sorority recruitment can be a lot but one thing is for sure: it's worth it. Bonding with your sisters, welcoming home new members, and falling more in love with your organization makes all of the late nights, blistered feet, and lost voices worth it.
