To My Future Little, I Will Always Be Here For You
Sarah Evans

Hey, Lil one,

I want to start this by saying I have been praying for you. I don’t mean that in a superficial way; I have been sincerely praying for you and hoping your recruitment process is easy and exciting for you. From day one I’ve been praying you feel as at home and comfortable and in love with our sorority as I did.

Second, I want you to know no matter what, my family and I are going to love you. We are crazy, outgoing and somewhat overwhelming at first, but we are all so excited for you as the newest addition to our family.

You are already so loved and adored.

And, since I have such incredible role models to look up to, I know what it takes to be the best big I possibly can be. I promise you I am going to try my hardest to make sure you feel included and to make your transition to college as smooth as possible. I know I was originally really overwhelmed, and my big was a huge help to me; I hope I can be just like that for you.

My big is one of the best role models and friends. She has proven time and time again she is there for me and that she loves me like a little sister (pun completely intended). We have such a close relationship; she is my best friend, and I hope that our relationship mirrors that.

I can’t wait for our potential late night Chick-Fil-A runs and our movie nights watching cheesy chick flicks when one of us is sad and needs some cheering up. I can't wait to embarrass you with my crazy personality and constant dad jokes. I can’t wait to make you match for our family pictures on Reveal night. I can’t wait for you to get all of the t-shirts I’ve been hoarding for you and all of the canvases I’ve been tirelessly working on all summer.

I’m so excited for you to be a part of not only my family, but of our amazing chapter, and to see everything the future holds for you in life, college and your sorority experience.

Finally, I want you to know that no matter what, family comes first. I’m going to be there for the highs and lows always, and I promise that will never change.

Love always,

Your Future Big

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
