Have you ever had that moment when you are driving around and you hear a song that you haven't heard in God knows how long and then it rushes back every feeling and thought you were thinking of when you first heard it? Because same.
For me music is such a big part of my life specifically for that reason. Music makes me feel so many different moods all at once. Sometimes it can be a sad thing, when you hear a song that you were in love with and kept on repeat because it was the only song that would change your mood before you had a anxiety attack from the emotional pain you were experiencing. Or even a song that you heard once when you were in a bad mood. No matter when you hear a song or how you are feeling it will leave an imprint on your soul. It attaches itself to your feelings, your heart strings. I believe that is the purpose of music is to guide your emotions, change your views on your current situation and to definitely remodel a terrible feeling into a wonderful one. When you go through a terrible point in your life and you seem to be at your lowest and can not find a way out. Music will be your guide to a temporary happy place that you will go to when you hear that specific song. For me I have gone through so much already in my 20 years. But what I have realized is that every time I find myself listening to a specific song every emotion I felt when I first listened to it, rushes back in. I smile like I did when I heard it. I cry like I can still relate to the lyrics even if I am no longer in a break up. I reminisce even when I forgot I had anything to reminisce about.
With that being said, when it comes to the happiness music brings you, music can also remind you to hold on to your happiness just like that one song reminds you of the happiness you had when you first heard it. Words and melodies can help you find your place and keep you in that wonderful place longer than you can ever imagine if you just hold on. Songs really do imprint the soul more than you think.
