Everyone has reached a moment in their life when they need to express a certain emotion, but cannot force themselves to just blurt it out. Whether you are trying to prove a point by saying, "And all those things I didn't say, wrecking balls inside my brain, I will scream them loud tonight, can you hear my voice this time?" or ""He could be a sinner, or a gentleman, he could be a preacher when your soul is damned, he could be a lawyer on a witness stand, but he'll never love you like I can." There will always be a song out there with the exact lyrics you need to open yourself up. And, if by some miraculous occasion, you cannot find the lyrics you need, to say what you want to say, then by all means, write your own song!
I'm sure that I am not the only girl out there who has spent countless hours on YouTube trying to find just the right song lyrics to say something along the lines of, "I'm driving home tonight, catching all red lights, but that's alright 'cause I, don't wanna be alone. There's nobody waitin' there, cold and empty bed, those words I wish I'd said, come on the radio. And I don't know why I do this to myself, I know you're with someone else," just to post those lyrics on your Facebook in the hopes that the guy you are in love with will see them and know that they are about him, and come running to you.
Then there is the all too common scenario when you are completely mad at the world and you want absolutely everyone to know, so anyone who gets into the car with you is greeted by you screaming, "Every time we lie awake, after every hit we take, every feeling that I get, but I haven't missed you yet, every roommate kept awake, by every sigh and scream we make, all the feelings that I get, but I still don't miss you yet," at the top of your lungs, just to let them know that you are heart broken and very very angry.
The point is if you need to express something, but can't find the words or strength to say it for yourself, use music. It is amazing therapy
