There is a distinct feeling when you know that something great is on the horizon. Your palms get sweaty and butterflies rise up from deep within -- you feel infinite, yet curious. You want to spin around and feel the world beneath you because you are alive. Your creative depths allow great things to happen, whether it be a new poem, a new song, a new friend or a new lover. I call this feeling, "something truly magical." I'm not exactly sure where it comes from, but I have a few theories.
When you meet the right person, you feel like the world is yours. Nothing can stand in your way when you are with them. When you are apart, you crave their next arrival. This person can be anything -- a friend or something more, an inspiration or something less. You never know where these great people come from, but when they enter your life you know it is for only magical purposes. For me, this person becomes a muse, someone to fuel my writing and verbal accounts. For others, this person may become the root of all their happiness and keep them going on a day-to-day basis.
Going to a new place for the first time is when I most experience the sensation of "something truly magical." There are so many different feelings when you enter a new place: fear, curiosity, power, empathy and love. This place can become your home or it can become another part of the map where you intend to conquer. When coming to a new location, you often find new things to do, things that are individual only to this place. It makes for great experiences, amazing memories and a reason to travel.
Insights, breakthroughs and epiphanies truly create the most defining experiences. A glorious moment will stay with you so long that it sparks other thoughts, so much so that you are able to enlighten on it. You will never know where these glorious moments come from or where these experiences will take you. But it makes your future seem bright. You are able to realize things before they even happen. If this foretelling is wrong, you are able to encapsulate a greater love for the present because of it.
It is so easy to point out when you are experiencing this defining feeling. I like to associate "something truly magical" with the color orange. When this distinct feeling radiates through you, I am reminded of what seems like an everlasting sunset coursing through your veins. The horizon is clear and full of pastel colors, great experiences and new love. You are alive and the world is yours for the taking, so take it, live it and make it yours.
