I have just a few things I would like to mention about flowers. I have always loved them, always will, and I decided to monopolize on this outlet for my thoughts to talk about my adoration of these budding beauties!
Flowers have a way about them to really captivate an audience. Whether they would be bouncing in the wind on a breezy day or in a bouquet, flowers always catch my attention. I love looking out on a vast field of flowers. I love looking at flowers on my makeup table, on my kitchen table or in the living room. I can actually spend a minute or two admiring them and smelling their fragrance. Really — they can stop time.
And no flower is the same as another, they’re all unique and intricate and beautiful in their own way. Flowers can mean so much that there’s even a language of flowers- floriography- that gained recognition during the Victorian Era. It was and still is used to send loved ones messages of adroration, friends messages of loyalty, and even sending secret messages or hate to their respective receivers. Flowers have so much power!
So, here we go! My top ten favorite flowers list!!
10. Yellow Roses
Yellow roses bring me so much joy (which is fitting because that is the meaning of yellow roses- joy!) Yellow is one of my favorite colors, and roses are pretty and smell nice, but are last on the list because I am very partial to the other flowers following.
9. Catmints
Catmints are cute little lavendar-blue bell-shaped flowers that are easy to care for and even good to have beside vegetables as they are known to have insect repellant properties! These flowers are pretty and helpful, what more could you ask for?
8. Snapdragons
Snapdragons are brightly colored flowers that bloom profusely in cooler weather, which makes their warm, sunny colors all the more beautiful and enticing!
7. Bee balms
These lemon-scented flowers attract bees like no other, hence the name “bee balms”. I have this idea of the future that I’m going to keep bees later in life and this pretty little blossom will come in handy.
6. Poppies
Besides their adorable name, poppies have an adorable look. The poppy grows in humble places and has grown the medical field (punintentional) and inspired many artists with its simple charm.
5. Black-Eyed Susans
These mini-sunflowers are one of the most popular wildflowers grown. They tend to blanket open fields, often surprising the passerby with their golden-yellow or sometimes magenta beauty. They attract hummingbirds, bees, butterflies, and humans alike.
4. Sweet Peas
Sweet Peas and their sweet names not only remind me of Amos Lee but are so delicate and flowy they remind me also of a watercolor painting or a classic Monet.
3. Daisies
Daisies are the cute, ditsy little wildflower everyone loves. I’ve loved daisies ever since I was little and nothing has changed.
2. Peonies
Oh, peonies. It is a tough decision for me to make when choosing between peonies and sunflowers. Peonies are rich in color and character. I love them.
1. Sunflowers
What makes the sunflower my number one favorite is it’s sunny personality and the way a sunflower field beckons you to it. Sunflower fields are gorgeous golden seas that inspire me.
In summary, I LOVE flowers!!
