Mom,

You are going through a very hard time right now. I wish I can do something to take your pain away. There is nothing worse than watching the people you love upset and not being able to do anything about it. But, I want you to know even though you are going through a hard time, it doesn’t change what you mean to me. I want you to know how much you really do mean to me.

I first want you to know, that there is no one quite like you in this world. You are not only my mother, but my best friend, my favorite teacher, and my number one supporter. These things are some of the reasons why I am so lucky. I am not only lucky for the life you have given me, but I am beyond lucky to call you my mom.

Mom, you never fail to amaze me. You are so talented. Your ability to handle anything that comes your way I believe is a talent in itself. I don’t think there will ever be enough thank yous in the world for all you do. I always admire how you can whip up a meal within minutes or figure out a math problem within seconds.

Thank you for always being there to listen and leading me on the right path. You have always made sure I had food to eat, beautiful clothes to wear, a house to live in, the best education, and I am always loved.

I cannot wait to be a mom and teacher just like you. You are the main reason I want to be both of these things. One of my favorite things to do is going to work with you and watching you teach. I hope I can do both of these things just as great as you do. Thank you for teaching everything I know.

One of my best memories I have with you is when you stayed up all night every night with me when I was in the first grade. You did this because I wasn’t able to read as well as the other students in my class. You would never let me fall behind no matter what. You made sure to practice with me until I was the best reader. Thank you for never giving up on me.

I also know that your parents are so proud of all that you do. Keep on being you and try to find the good in every moment. Live your life to the fullest and try to smile the most you can.

I hope this article motivates you to keep going forward and to keep being strong. I learned from you and all the things that we have been through, that even if you are knocked down, you are meant to get up better than before.

I love you, Mom. Never forget it. You will always be my best friend.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
