we need to stop obsessing over social media and live our own lives

You are enough.

I feel like in today's society, we get so caught up in the little things that really shouldn't matter as much as we intend. We try so hard to be better than others or get all the fame and success. We want to be the best person out there and want others to love us so badly. But honestly, it shouldn't matter. It shouldn't matter if we have thousands of followers on Instagram or one follower. It shouldn't matter if we get 500 likes on a picture or 10. It shouldn't matter if that girl/guy looks like they have a better life than you because a picture is only looking on the outside of their lives. You don't see all the other things going on in between the cute pictures.

In my opinion, social media seems to have become some competition of who can have a better life. Pictures that we post can make people believe that everything is perfect (aka we're living our best life), which is kind of what we want them to do. We don't want others knowing the pain we are going through. We want to hide it all underneath and pretend that everything is fine. However, that isn't the reality of it.

Social media has also made it really bad to where we feel like we aren't good enough. We feel like we don't measure up to others and we feel like we just aren't good enough. It's a big comparison game.

See, we get so caught up in being OF the world, instead of just IN the world. I mean look at Jesus Christ. He had 12 disciples. He was the Messiah. God could have given Him a million friends, yet Jesus only had a few. He picked quality over quantity. When Jesus healed the sick and raised the dead. He didn't tell the people to go tell everyone that Jesus Christ did this and He's this amazing guy. Yet, the people did anyway, not because they had to, but because they wanted to praise this amazing person that saved them.

The only person we need to try to get the approval of each day is God. He created this world for you and He wants you to enjoy it, not because you have to, but because you want to. He wants you to enjoy the little things and the big things that are all around you. He wants you to spend your days filling yourself up with Him instead of filling it up with the world and its approval.

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a server of Christ. -Galatians 1:10

All of the social media stuff that we get caught up in doesn't matter to God. Now, I'm not saying we shouldn't post things on the Internet or want to be on social media. That is not what I am implying. I'm just saying that we shouldn't obsess about it and let it control our lives. It isn't that important. We don't need to get too worked up about things on this Earth like social media and society's viewpoint because to God it doesn't matter. He loves you, indefinitely. He isn't going to throw you away based on how many likes you get on a picture or how you look 24/7. He wants you to live for His view of you, not others.

So whenever you feel like you aren't good enough for society or someone on this Earth just remember that you are enough for the Lord and that is all you need. Spend less time on the phone and more time in the word of God. Let your will to please God outweigh your will to please the world.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
