So You Want To Take A Road Trip? A Story Told By New Girl

So, you've been thinking about going on a road trip or maybe even reminiscing about a recent one you have taken? Well, I totally understand why you would be, road trips are so fun and ensure memories last a lifetime.

Not only are they bonding experiences for friends and family but you can experience a lot of life on a short little road trip. It was this very same thought that recently had me thinking about the joy road trips truly and the adventure and shenanigans that they hold.

Although long car rides to destinations unknown can be both exciting and entertaining they also are all guaranteed to go through the classic road trip phases and have at least one complaint... or maybe two.

1. ROAD TRIP! ROAD TRIP!

You've made your plans, you've packed your bags and you are full of pure excitement. You could not be more ready to hit the road so here comes the "Road Trip!," chants and the "YASSS," screams.

2. Time to get BUCKWILD!

This is one of the best parts of the trip. So you're in the car, windows rolled down. CARDI B BLASTING and its time to get BUCKWILD. You're on the open road and nothing can stop you... except maybe something unexpected.

3. Bonding time!

Let deep conversations begin and the bonding begins! Whether you're out with your girls or guys, enjoy growing closer on the big open road. And, even if the trip doesn't go as planned it still has the potential for some bonding and some hilarious or crazy stories you can look back on.

4. Uh-Oh

The first Uh-Oh Moment. This is where the fit starts to hit the shan (for lack of a better term). It usually starts with either the first complaint or the first spill of food or coffee. Let the hangry ensue.

5. Bathroom break

First bathroom break of the trip! You're finally able to stretch your legs and take a quick break so make sure to dance out your numb legs that fell asleep TWO HOURS ago.

6. FOOOODDD

Back on the road and its time to refuel and stuff your face with food.

7. Nap time

You ate your food, now its time for a good old fashion food coma. That's right, NAP TIME also known as the best time of the trip.

8. Buckwild 2.0

You got some food in your belly, took your nap and you're ready to take over the road! It's time to get buck wild 2.0!! Maybe even with a little Kendrick or you could throw it back with some Britney, bitch.

9. Road rage

You've been in the car for hours at this point. You need to get out and you could not be more ready to get out of the car and the last thing you can deal with is getting cut off.

10. We're here!

You FINALLY reached your destination! You get out of your car and throw that one hand up in victory. You can finally say "Look Ma, I made it."

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
