Letting my hair down
I stretch across the lawn
Feeling the green strands of grass poke the exposed skin on my legs
While the sun blankets me in warmth
I can’t fight back the wide grin on my face
So extraordinarily grateful that the last few days of winter have disintegrated away
The bone-chilling cold has been halted to a cool breeze
That whips my curls around my face
As I dream of summer
coconut oil
fruity perfume
salty sea
clinking bottles with friends
drunken bonfires
rosy cheeks and uninhibited laughs
endless nights
Youth in bloom.
