Skincare Products Saving Me From Laziness During Quarantine

I wash my face and keep my unibrow trimmed and that about covers it.

Let me first start this off by saying.

I AM NOT A SKINCARE/BEAUTY GURU.

In all honestly, I am probably the furthest thing from those phrases. I wash my face and keep my unibrow trimmed and that about covers it.

Yet, ever since getting to college and meeting a ton of new gal friends (something as a girl who grew up with a brother, I never had), I have learned so much more about how to take care of my mind, my body and most importantly, my face.

Now, this isn't going to be some James Charles, Tati Westbrook-style recommendation. Nor will there be beef if you don't like my methodology. The products I use are simply to maximize efficiency and get the job done is a clean manner. I like for my facial products to not damage my skin, but also make me feel clean. These products have been saving me during quarantine which is also when I have been the laziest of my entire life, so let's get to it!

BLISS Rose Gold Rescue Cleanser

I laugh when I read the word rescue because 99% of the time when I look in the mirror, that is exactly what I need. A fast rescue. I use this wash every morning when I wake up and take my iron pill (shoutout to my anemia friends out there! Whoop whoop! Iron deficiency! Whoop!) Anyway, this face wash smells golden and is filled with rich, willow bark extract that gently exfoliates. I love its foamy feeling in the morning.

PIXI Hydrating Milky Mist

Genuinely, a mist from the gods. Like the legit Greek gods. First, I am in love with PIXI as a brand. They are wholesome and natural and give their customers the best results and amazing products. This milky mist gives you that boost and silky feeling against your skin. It is filled to the brim with black oat extracts that contain vitamins and vitamin B complex that strengthens the skin. Being a sensitive skin queen has never been so easy. Just a spritz!

ELF Holy Hydration! Face Cream

It feels like water is gently being splashed onto your face. Kind of heavenly honestly, especially me being from the south and sweating from every single pore of my body during the summertime. My mom started using this before me, but it gives me that nice dewy feeling in the morning. Mix that with a cup of peppermint tea and your day is sure to be an utter success.

ELF Glow Radiant Moisturizer w SPF 15

Just so it is known and because I am roasted for it every single day of my life, I am pale. Paler than you are picturing in your mind right now. So pale, my skin reflects in the sun. In order to produce my pale goods, we got to lather that sunscreen. I am obsessed with ELF as a brand so I support when they even breathe. I put this under my eyes, on my neck, and even a little on my ears for good measure. It contains shea butter, more hyaluronic acid, and coconut oil to really lock in moisture. It smells delightful too.

Castor Oil

This trick was something I found from an influencer I follow. Her name is @emmatopp and she is a jack of all trades. In her skincare line of action, she puts castor oil on her brows and eyelashes before bed and trust me when I say, it makes a difference. The minerals in the castor oil help with the growth and health of your brows and lashes. It is a two-in-one punch!

BURTS BEES Lip Oil w Passion Fruit Extract

Last, but certainly most important, lip health. Two claps for lip health!! I found this gem about a week ago and it has saved me. Coming from the cooler, Kentucky weather to the Georgia heat in such a short period of time has sent my skin out of wack. This means my lips have been chapped and dry. This oil gets deep into my upper lip and retains that moisture it so desperately needs. It is in my hand or in my pocket at every second of every day!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
