The original six word story was written by Ernest Hemingway, but it's really only come to light recently. Knowledge of it has blown up all across Tumblr and Reddit for the last two years. So much so that people are beginning to write their own and post them all across social media.

In accordance, I came across the concept of the Six Word Story recently when I was scrolling through Pinterest. Much like other writers, I was infatuated by the meaning and raw emotion that was conveyed in just the six words that grazed the page.

So, I decided to challenge myself and see what stories I could tell about what life as a young adult in college is really like. The subjects include the ups and downs of adult responsibility, real relationships, realizations about growing up, deep feelings, many priorities, and chasing passions.

Six Word Stories By A College Student:

1. Four years isn't a long time.

2. It scares me what I'll lose.

3. Hiding from vulnerability only hurts you.

4. Words not spoken will break us.

5. I missed you in my life.

6. Time without it gave me perspective.

7. The distance made me appreciate you.

8. That day you showed me grace.

9. A good heart must be treasured.

10. Academia without passion is purely knowledge.

11. Traveling cleanses and restores our souls.

12. When compassion is sparked, it's lit.

13. We aren't defined by our past.

14. Growing up sneaks up on us.

15. Notice when it becomes too much.

15. Be stupid once. Learn from it.

15. Don't be afraid to love another.

16. Our hearts love to chance hurting.

17. We climbed until we couldn't anymore.

18. Our bodies only provide so much.

19. Our souls need more than this.

21. Silence is communicated. Communication isn't silent.

22. True sincerity defines the situations' atmosphere.

25. We hurt each other. Who's next?

26. All these memories filed into boxes.

27. Does love depend on the person?

28. People may or may not return.

29. We dream of the after chase.

30. Every semester is different. Us too.

30. Time reminds us of what's important.

31. Take the time. You need it.

32. A listener needs to be heard.

33. Laughter with the right person heals.

34. Keep the ones who know you.

35. Appreciation is felt on both ends.

36. Service serves more than one party.

37. Relationships give way to everything else.

38. Corresponding expectations are rare. Treasure it.

39. Take the risk. Get his number.

40. Read the book. Get the haircut.

41. Persistence never broke the trying person.

42. Learning to live is the point.

43. A years time changes us all.

44. Family is everything. Tell them now.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
