"Fashions fade, but style is eternal." — Yves Saint Laurent

If someone told me as an incoming freshman that junior year I would be wearing a scrunchie around my wrist or in my hair, I would have laughed. Not only would I have laughed, but I probably would have judged the individual who tried to convince me that this would occur. Today, on the other hand, I am one of those girls who sport these six trends that have made a miraculous (and unexpected) comeback:

1. Half-up hair

Throughout the last couple years, I have watched the style that is commonly worn by toddlers evolve into the party pony, the top knot and now the double knot. Not only have I watched this trend evolve, but I've participated in it alongside my friends. Honestly, I'm not really sure why I ever spent so much time on my hair years ago only to have the same go-to hairstyle as I did when I was two.

2. Overalls

I did it — I wore overalls to the grocery store. Once I wore overalls to the grocery store I was comfortable — and not to mention confident — in them. I had to start out small because this trend is still a weird one, but now that I feel like I can rock this style, I've worn every type of denim one pieces that the stores have to offer.

3. Adidas shoes

Even the girliest of girls can be found rocking these sneakers by pairing them with jeans and skirts. I started out with simple black and white neutrals, but I'm finding myself eyeballing red and even blue Adidas shoes. Who even am I?

4. Jean skirts

Denim, in general, has always been a fan favorite, but why are these so adorable lately? I find myself pairing a jean skirt with a loose top, a crop top or even a long-sleeve button-up for any occasion. Stores have released (and not to mention sold out of) jean skirts in all forms — I've recently purchased black denim button-up skirts, dark and light wash — and even some colorful ones to pair with my neutral tops.

5. Scrunchies

Ew, right? No. Way. I have a newfound love for these comfortable bands! Not only are they easy on my hair, but they also don't hurt my wrists. That's right. Be a girl who can rock Netflix and chill hairstyle and girls night out hairstyle with only one accessory — scrunchies.

6. Chokers

Nothing shouts "badass" quite like a choker. Luckily, I can find chokers for every outfit I want to pair them with, and I've even figured out how to layer my own necklaces because of this trend. Low key, I shop at Claire's for these simple necessities.

Don't ask me why these articles of clothing and accessories have become so popular since 2016 because I don't have an answer for you. I don't question the madness; I join it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
