Six Things I Need From The Gilmore Girls Revival

Like most fans, I need some closure after being left to my own devices at the close of season seven.

As if Netflix hasn't blessed us enough already, their release, Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life, premiers in less than a week! Bring copious amounts of coffee and junk food and settle onto the couch because it's finally time. This is everything fans have been speculating about for nine years. We will finally have answers to our most burning questions. I've spent the past months considering what I want to see the most in the revival and this is what I've decided.

Rory

If I don't get a recap of her time working on the Obama campaign, I will be sorely disappointed. However, the only thing I want for Rory is her happiness and independence. I hope she has grown into a confident woman and has traversed all across the world.

Luke and Lorelai

Just be together, please.

Paris Geller

I've got an inkling that she and Doyle are going to be the relationship goals of the show. I hope Paris is still a fierce woman running headfirst after her goals. Maybe she'll channel her current TV persona and be a cutthroat attorney.

Jess Mariano

I need more Jess. Specifically, I need more of Jess being a well-adjusted human with a thriving intellectual livelihood. I want to see him happy and accepting love and help. I need to see him with a book in his hand, talking to Rory about their favorites parts. In a perfect world, I imagine Jess and Rory gallivanting around the world chronicling their journey.

Lane and Mrs. Kim

Mrs. Kim had crazy rules for Lane growing up. Deep down, we all know how much she loves Lane. I so desperately want to see Lane and Mrs. Kim on good terms, enjoying each other's company. My heart is happy thinking of Lane's kiddos frolicking through Stars Hollow while Mrs. Kim tries to feed them wheat grass muffins.

Emily Gilmore

My only hope is that she has not lost any of her sass. Her sharp tongue and wit make me cringe with delight when she insults someone. Surely, the loss of Richard will be felt hard, but Emily will handle it with unparalleled grace. Oh, I just can't wait for more Friday night dinners.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
