The Six Best Friends You Need Freshman Year

Finding the lucky ones who you'll spend every waking minute with freshman year is important, so make sure you pick them right. Here are the "Six Best Friends" you will need (and should find) freshman year.

1. The Mom

They watch over you at tailgates and mixers. They make sure if you are dancing on an elevated surface that you have a buddy. They NEVER let you go anywhere without them, and they are constantly keeping you out of trouble. The “Mom" is always there and knows when you need help. She knows you all call her mom, but she swears “She's not like the other mom's, she's a cool mom"

2. The friend with the connections

Your most valuable best friend. They know all the cool parties, all the cool events and seem to know how to get you in anywhere. They are always up for a party and seem to be the one who organizes most of them. *Note here…..this is also the best friend you do NOT want your parents meeting. They will always have a story about you that they think is funny and your parents….probably not so much.

3. The Studier

You know who they are. This is a great best friend to have, because they have great study habits and they know how to get homework done. They probably sacrifice a little too much fun time for homework, so you don't spend as much time as you should with them, but when it comes to crunch time, this is the shoulder to lean on. They always have the answer and they know how to explain it just right….if you could just get them to leave their books behind every now and then…

4. The Tissue Box

We all need this friend. Let's face it, if you haven't cried about homework, or home, or life, then you're not in college. This is the best friend you have when everything goes wrong. They are there for you with a big box of tissue and a shoulder to cry on. They know every little problem you have and are there for a movie and maybe some cookie dough or chocolate to make your day better.

5. The Realist

The friend you can be sarcastic with, but also the friend you can be 100% honest with. She'll tell you that dress is ugly and keep you from having food in your teeth. She's got your back and will always give you honest advice and her unfiltered honest opinion.

6. The Keeper

This is probably a future bridesmaid. She is a mix of all of the above, she studies with you, cries with you, goes out with you and knows you're entire life story and still doesn't judge, because you know hers too. She is there at 1 a.m. either studying or holding your hair! She has seen the good, the bad and the ugly, and is right there for you, and you're there for her too. This is the best friend you keep forever. Find this one, and never let her go!

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
