My sister and I are five years apart. Imagine the horror when we were little, mostly because of the age difference. We had the typical sibling relationship of me wanting to always hang out with her and friends, while she wanted me to find my own friends that were around my age. Then, I always wanted to borrow, more likely take without asking permission, her entire wardrobe because she clearly had a better selection to choose from. Unfortunately, the better selection was basically the restriction area.
Flash forward to present day, we are now 20 and 25 years old. Now that we are older and more mature, we realized how much we depend on one another. We can be miles and miles apart, but that never stops us from calling for advice. Our text messages are filled with topics we can finally relate with and discuss because we are finally in the same age group. It is almost as if we feed off one another with two different personalities.

We were civil with one another as kids, but it is nothing compared to the bond we share now. We still bicker and disagree with certain situations, but at the end of the day we are best friends who happen to be blood-related. It is a win-win situation that worked itself out with time.
The older we get, the closer we become. We laugh, we cry, and most importantly we love.
