Party's over, it's time to go home.

Welcome to college.

The library is your second home, the food options are limited, and dating is expected. Except when it isn't. When you're the party of one. When you're the third (or fifth or seventh) wheel. When New Year's Eve is spent with a box of pizza and Netflix. Regardless of all the glorious (and not so glorious) opportunities that come with being single, it's time to stop the pity party inevitably follows it, because it isn't going to make the situation any better.

As college students, we're really good at complaining. We've all heard the classic lines of "I have so much homework" or "I want food but it's too far to walk," and I think we can all think of at least one friend from whom we've heard "ugh, I'm never going to have a boyfriend/girlfriend. My life sucks."

Stop throwing yourself a pity party. Your life doesn't suck, it just isn't the right time yet. It's exhausting and annoying to constantly hear "the right person just hasn't come along yet" and "focus on school right now," but it's true. Are you ready for your mind to be blown?... Complaining about the fact that you aren't in a relationship doesn't change the situation.

When you're in your twenties, you should be having the time of your life. You should be doing whatever makes you happy! Whether that's pursuing your passion, traveling the world, or getting your degree, you should be doing what makes you happy. So why on earth would you make yourself unhappy by dwelling on the fact that you don't have a significant other?

Someone once told me that you should always wake up and ask yourself this one question: Am I happy? And if you're not happy, you buy yourself some ice cream and turn on your favorite music and figure out what will make you happy. It's time to stop dwelling on what we can't change and do something about the things we can. It's time to stop feeling sorry for ourselves and actually do something about it!

When you want something, you go after it. That mentality applies to jobs, schools, dreams, and even relationships. As children, we were taught to chase our dreams. Why did we suddenly become afraid of chasing after the things we want when we became adults? Chasing after what we want should still be part of life!

I think part of the reason we continue to throw the Singles Pity Party is due to the fact that we're afraid of going after the people we want.

We're afraid of what might come of it. But honestly? The worst they can say is "no." And in the wise words of Mark Sloan, "If you love someone, you tell them. Even if you're scared that it's not the right thing. Even if you're scared that it will cause problems. Even if you're scared that it will burn your life to the ground. You say it and you say it loud, and you go from there."

As adults, we have the ability to take charge of our lives. We have the ability to run after the prize. We are our own greatest adversaries. We get in the way of the things we want in life by throwing pity parties and saying "woe is me." The pity party is over, it's time to go home.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
