I recently got to meet an artist who calls himself SineWolf. There was something about him and his music that drew me in, so I asked if I could interview him. Keep reading and discover for yourself this amazing artist whose music is unlike anything I have heard before. Click play while you read this article!
Q: What made you decide to start a music career? What makes you passionate about making music?
A: I’ve always loved music. It’s been in my life through thick and thin, and helped me when I needed it most, as well as made me see reactions to scores from games, film, and television. That give me insight as to how a person reacts and I think that’s amazing. What makes me passionate has to be the reaction I see from people enjoying it. Being able to see or hear someone’s reaction to it, and hear what they thought or how it affected them in a good way or at all, is simply amazing.
Q: What genre would you describe your music as? Why did you choose to make this type of music?
A: I would say the music I’m making now for performance is electronica/EDM. I still compose for games and animations/film or other projects of performance as well, but that’s where my music performance aspect is in right now. I chose this type due to the fact that it’s so wide versed. You can go anywhere in your imagination to make people think, feel, or get up and dance. Plus, there’s so much you can do with electronic music, it’s insane.
Q: Tell me about your mask and what that represents.
A: Haha, well that’s actually something that goes with my name, SineWolf. It’s obviously a wolf, which to me represents my determination, will not to give up, and trying to make it to the front of the pack and be unique. It also hides my identity under the mask so you focus on that message, and well…wolves are badass!
Q: What does your writing process look like, and what has been your favorite song to write and perform so far?
A: Overall my writing processed is paced, I’m a perfectionist. If it’s not what I want in terms of how good I think it is… I have to scrap it. I’ve definitely been working on it and have been getting better, but it usually starts with inspiration from somewhere or something, then to making a drum pattern, etc. Well I can’t wait to perform as SineWolf, but my favorite? Hmmm… I’d have to say “True Shinobi”. It’s got that party vibe as well as something in the song that gets you hyped and inspired, something you could dance, workout, study, or chill out too, or be a song for a soundtrack if used appropriately.
Q: What is your main goal for your music career?
A: My overall main goal…that’s a lot. Well, as I said, to attempt and say I tried, and give music back to people, make them feel like dancing and enjoying themselves. Hopefully, eventually composing for video games, which would be sick! As well as just leaving my imprint in the music world.
Q: Is there any venue or city you dream of playing in?
A: Hmmm, that’s a tough one… it has to either be Tokyo, Japan, the E3 Pre-party in L.A., or performing at Electric Forest as of right now.
Q: Do you have any tips for people looking to start a career in music or who are inspired by you? Who or what is your inspiration?
A: Don’t look for success, don’t look for riches, and don’t look for fame. Look to go out, give it your all, and expand your horizons. Try anything and everything, and don’t be afraid of failure. [I’m inspired by] sooooo many bands and artists. Deadmau5, Marshmello, Blackmill, Lindsey Stirling, and others. As well as that never-ending goal to make people feel emotions and send them to another world with my music.
Q: What do your plans for the future look like? Is there anything you are working on right now?
A: As of now I have my first E.P. out, entitled “Raiju”. Everything I write comes from an inspiration, like “Raiju” comes from the anime I like, and the titles definitely show that, as well as the songs themselves. I’m now looking to go for performances with it, as well as a project I’ll be working with in a group that for right now I can’t go much into but so far… I’d say I’m confident my future looks really bright. Here’s to hoping, right? Cheers!
