It’s that time of the semester where everyone is pulling all-nighters and studying any chance they get. When midterms hit, they can all at once, or it can be over a four-week span sometimes. This past week I had four midterms in one week and I was beyond stressed out, but in the end, my hard work paid off and I can actually see the light.
Not only will these tips help you pass midterms, but also when finals come this will be an excellent guide. I’ve listed below the top five ways that helped me pass my midterms.
1. Don’t Panic
Probably the biggest part of studying for me is to not freak out and panic when it's 12 a.m. and I still have no idea what half the material on the review sheet is.
2. Study Two Weeks In Advance
Every professor has said it...don't wait till the last night to finally start reviewing. After not believing my professors, I tried to study the night before and 9 times out 10 I failed.
Over the two week span I usually make flashcards or a detailed review and each night I go over at least one or two chapters until I feel like I really know the information.
3. Get A Good Night's Rest
It's been shown in studies that taking a test without sleep is like driving drunk. I've pulled multiple all-nighters and sometimes it's helped my grade, but there is honestly nothing better than waking up refreshed and ready to take a test.
4. Eat Healthy Meals
Studying is long and stressful, and at the end we usually just want to grab Whataburger or some nuggets from McDonald's, but what's best for your body is brain food, so protein and vegetables will help contribute to your success.
5. Ask Your Professor If You're Confused
The best thing you can do to help your grade, or if you're confused on a certain topic, is to go and talk to your professor before the test so you can better understand if you're tested on that material.
