13 Signs You're the Gramma Friend

We've all heard of mom friends, that's for sure. But, it's about time we gave some credit to the real OGs of the friend group, the gramma friend. 😎

1. You've been told you're wise

Take the compliment, ya gramma. Though you may sometimes not feel it, you are an eternal fountain of nurturing advice. No matter what the situation, you can almost always say something helpful to it. And that's why you always find yourself happy to lend a hand!

2. You try really hard not to judge anyone

Everyone's got their own thing, and that's because we all have our own starting places, our own experiences, and our own stories. It's really hard to judge when you know that people have been through ups and downs you can't even imagine being where they are at that moment. It's just something you don't forget.

3. You like using metaphors

What can you do? You can't help but pour out all that wisdom into metaphors when trying to explain something. Also, you just happen to have a knack for remembering them at the most perfect times... *hair flip*

4. You know when to lay on the sass

'Nuff said.

5. You have items of great use in your bag

Band-aid? Safety pin? Hair tie? Plastic bag? Food? Any miscellaneous item under the sun? Yup, you got it. Take pride in it, girl.

6. You listen well

You love being a listening ear, and your friends know it. They come with anything and everything knowing you'll always be there to listen. Kudos to you for being that friend!!

7. Your alone time is ABSOLUTELY essential

Given that, you absolutely HAVE to have some downtime by yourself. Being around people a lot is taxing for you and you know it.

8. You need 8 hours of sleep

Otherwise, you may or may not be moody and prone to fall asleep at a moment's notice in the car, during a movie, while watching TV, or doing homework. Or anything, really.

9. You feel bad knowing your friends aren't getting that much sleep

Yup. That's the face you make when you find out your peeps aren't getting the sleep you know they should be. What follows is just a series of insults at the current system that forces everyone to work so hard, acknowledging that it's meant to be, and then that everything will be okay. Oof.

10. You get cold easily

Let's face it. You're never seen without a jacket or shawl or some form of method to sustain body warmth. Is summer even hot with all the AC blasting in your face, anyway?

11. Your music taste is on the softer side

Too much loud music = headaches, and headaches are NOT fun.

12. You hate watching anything that's not feel-good

Thrillers? Not a chance. Horror? Who do you think I am? Rom-coms and comedies? Yes, please, now we're talking.

13. You're an old soul

There's light in your eyes, wisdom in your youth, and love in your ways, so never change.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
