Do you feel like you switch between extrovert and introvert tendencies? You might be an ambivert! An ambivert is someone who has qualities that would typically be attributed to that of both extroverts and introverts. They tend to be well rounded and seek balance. Here are some signs that you really are an ambivert!

1. You walk into a party filled with anxiety.

You no longer are excited and all you can think of is, “am I dressed okay?” “Who all is going to be here again?” “I hope I don’t look awkward coming in…”

2. But after a couple minutes, you’re having the best time ever.

“Oh yeah, I forgot that I LOVE PARTIES!!!! Anxious… who? Me?”

3. You crave attention and recognition but shy away when you get it.

With no recognition, you think to yourself, “Wow what does it take to get some credit around here?!” But being complimented in front of people is SERIOUSLY overwhelming.

4. You switch from being relaxed and loose to being deep in thought.

It takes a true ambivert to go from laughing for no reason to thinking about why the earth was made

5. How outgoing you are varies with the who you are with.

This used to drive me CRAZY. I could not figure out for the life of me why around some people I was the loud one and around others, I was seen as reserved. Once I found out I was an ambivert it all made sense. Ambiverts aim to achieve balance!

6. You love being around people but need alone time.

Do you enjoy hanging out with your friends? Yes! Do you enjoy having some alone time? Yes! But would you like to have a lot of either one? No way. You love to be with people, but you need to have time to sort out your thoughts and get things done. A true ambivert is pleased with having a balance between being social and being on their own.

7. You stump your friends/personality tests.

Personality tests may say that you are an extrovert or introvert but you really feel like both, and that is usually reflected in a low score for whatever one they define you as. Friends can also confirm that you are an ambivert by not being able to decide if you are an extrovert or introvert. Not sure if you are an ambivert? Ask your buds and see what they say!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
