There's nothing quite like spring on a college campus.

You definitely know when it's spring time in college. Here are some signs that I see around Villanova that let me know it's officially spring.

Everyone is outside

Whether its to do work, eat, or just to hangout, you know it's spring once you start to see everyone all around outside on campus.

You almost always hear music playing by the Oreo or in the Quad

I feel like I can't walk anywhere during the day without hearing music blast from somewhere around campus.

Girls start wearing dressesĀ

And skirts. You know it's getting nice when girls start bringing out the sun dresses.

And boys start wearing shorts

Some boys bring out the shorts a little too early, but you know it's spring time when you see boys wearing their pastel colored or patterned shorts.

The flip flops and sandals are out

It is officially spring weather once wearing flip flops and sandals becomes acceptable again.

Everyone is collectively ready for the semester to be over

You know it's spring when everyone is struggling to make it through the rest of the semester. You're in the final stretch but you are definitely ready to be done with classes.

It's formal season

I don't know how it is at other schools, but formals are a pretty big deal at Villanova. Everyone always looks forward to getting dressed up and going out with friends, especially now that you don't have to worry about freezing while walking back to the dorms after formal.

And darty season

I don't know about everyone else, but I know it's spring when every other picture I see on Instagram is from a darty.

Hammocks are everywhere

I feel like I'm missing out on the hammock trend. When it's spring I can spot someone with their hammock in a tree almost anywhere on campus.

The dorms get unbearably hot

Once it starts to get warm out the rooms always get hot and stuffy too. We have to keep the windows open so that the room will stay a decent temperature.

The flowers and trees start blooming

So many flowers suddenly appear all around and campus looks so beautiful.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
