Sigma Nu's 2nd Annual Classic City Bowl

"No other event allows you to be entertained by two fraternities hitting each other."

In 2015, Sigma Nu at the University of Georgia unveiled their new philanthropic event, the Classic City Bowl. The Classic City Bowl sticks out from most other philanthropic events, in that instead of using the proceeds to benefit one charity, they use the money to benefit up to four charities. All of the money raised is divided up between the philanthropies of the sororities with the highest attendance.

When asked about the event, one of Sigma Nu's philanthropy chairs, Tyler Haaland, provided us with this information:

"The 2016 Classic City Bowl is a high-school style, full-tackle football game between the brothers of Sigma Nu and Kappa Alpha Order. This event will be taking place at the walking-distance location of Clarke-Central High Schoolon April 23rd at 5:00 P.M.

All proceeds from the event will go back to the top three sororities in attendance at the game. 1st in attendance will receive 60 percent of all the money, 2nd will receive 30 percent, and 3rd will receive 10 percent. Attendance will be counted by placing your ticket stubs in your respective sororities/philanthropy's box at the entrance to the stadium. At the end of the game, the votes will be tallied and the winners will be announced. Last year’s event brought in $15,000, so this a very easy and very fun way to raise a large amount of money for your sorority’s charity. Last year's proceeds went to:

1st: Zeta Tau Alpha (60 percent of proceeds)

2nd: Kappa Delta (30 percent of proceeds)

3rd: Delta Delta Delta (10 percent of proceeds)

However, attendance will not be the only way to earn money for your philanthropy. We will be awarding $500 to the philanthropy of the sorority that makes the best banner for our event the week of the game. So get creative and you also can win a bit for your cause.

Tickets will be $7 from any Sigma Nu brother, or $10 at the gate of the event."

Tickets can also be purchased from the official Classic City Bowl website.

When: Saturday, April 23rd at 5:00 P.M

Where: The Clarke Central High School Football Stadium

How: By purchasing a ticket from any Sigma Nu, the website, or at the gate

Why: To benefit up to four different charities while watching a bunch of guys hit each other

Be sure to make it out to Clarke Central on April 23rd to see these fellas face off, while also raising money for a few great causes!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
