Some of you may have heard about a little TV show available on Netflix called "How I Met Your Mother." A best friend of mine recommended that I watch the show. However, I'm more of a drama show kind of person, think "Grey's Anatomy," "Scandal," and any TV show that when you start to like a character, the screenwriter then proceeds to kill them off. But I decided to give it a chance. Five seasons later and I'm hooked. The other night, I watched a good five hours straight of the show's characters' shenanigans. The next day I realized I had some side effects from watching..
I started saying made up words created by Barney.
I developed a "you're dead to me" stare and over-using it in inappropriate situations.
High fives became my instinctual reaction to anything awesome happening.
I realized a new found passion for the song "I Would Walk 500 Miles."
I started thinking a lot about what looking back on my college experience would look like.
My friends are now introduced by saying, "Haaaaaaave you met [insert name here]?" and then running away to leave them to flounder.
I keep wanting to make a slap bet with my friends. Unfortunately, they're refusing.
I keep making people "wait for it..." because...
I've become more appreciative of the love of my friends.
And last but not least, my hope in love has been restored.
