We Need To Show Our Love To The Jewish Community

Love is stronger than hate.

We Need To Show Our Love To The Jewish Community

Recently, a tragic event took place that made a huge impact on the Jewish community. A gunman came in a synagogue and shot 11 people dead and injured 6 (not counting the gunman here). It was classified as the deadliest attack on the Jewish community in the United States.

This event was an act of pure evil. One has to wonder what was going on their minds and what happened in their lives to make them want to commit such a horrible act and take so many innocent lives.

Not to mention this took place during a baby naming ceremony. Can you imagine having to explain to your kid when they are older what happened on that day they were named?

What we need to do right now is be there for our Jewish friends and the community as a whole. This was an act of hate, and we need to let them know that we love them and that we will stand by them no matter what.

One thing you can do is donate to the families of the victims. This money will help with the physical damages to the synagogue as well as with the survivors and families of the victims. Even if you don't have much, every little bit helps.

We can also make donations to Jewish organizations to show our support to the community here are a few different organizations that are in the Pittsburgh area that you can donate to.

Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh

Jewish Family and Children's Services of Pittsburgh

Jewish Community Center

We also need to teach people history, tell them about the Holocaust and the entire history of it, not just part of it, tell them about when they were slaves in Egypt they always say that those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it, this is why we need to be teaching history in schools.

Let us all show our support for not just Pittsburgh, but the whole Jewish community as well. They don't have to hide who they are in fear of hate, because there are people that have their backs.

No matter what religion you may be no matter who you may believe in we are all the same we all deserve happiness, and love and to live long lives we all deserve the same things that one would want for themselves.

Never again starts now!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
