We all have that person or people that we connect within the first few weeks of school.
Maybe the seat next to them was empty so you stole it, maybe they were a friend of a friend or maybe they had your favorite team’s logo on their t-shirt. Either way, you sat down and knew that you found yourself a buddy.
This my friends is what I like to call a CFF.
Class friends forever.
CFF's are just as important as BFF's if not more.
Class friends go through some of your biggest struggles with you. I mean you can tell your best friend all day how hard the test you just took was and they can sympathize but they won't understand it as much as your class friend who also took it does.
Your CFF also understands how awful or amazing your professor is. Or that annoying know-it-all in the class that truly lives to kiss your professor's butt. Either way, there is nothing like a shared shock or awe of someone to bring people, especially students, together.
Your CFF has your back in ways your BFFs simply can't. Your CFF will send you the notes, let the professor know you're a few minutes late and the "I haven't even started yet" texts you get three hours before the deadline.
Personally, I don't like to discuss my grades with my friends maybe my super close friends but as a whole, I think it just leads to a comparison game. That's where a CFF is a better friend for me because we can talk about our academic successes and struggles.
Your connection with a CFF is almost magnetic. It's like you find them, y'all click, and the semester is LIT. We all have that person we give the look to when there's a group project and you get to pick your groups.
If you're lucky enough your CFF will be in your major classes and you will get to keep them for longer than a semester.
Eventually, y'all become friends even outside of class.
