Thanksgiving is this Thursday.
It seems like this year has flown by, and the years just keep getting faster and faster.
While we live our busy lives, sometimes we forget the things we should be thankful for and often take the little things for granted.
Too often, we get caught up in our struggles to be thankful for things such as the air we breath, the food we eat, the clothes we wear, and the shelter over our head.
So...Be thankful for the time you get to spend with your family this weekend. No matter how much you are not looking forward to the constant questions of "What are you going to do with your life?" "Do you have a boyfriend yet?" "What are you doing with your life after college?" Or any other common question you as a college student get when you are home for break.
On top of that, be thankful for the time you get to spend with your parents. I can assure you they miss you so much and they are so excited to see you. Be nice to them. Help them out. Just please, be nice and respectful.
Be thankful for the friends you see while you are at home. There are only so many days out of the year that you can hangout with these people, so embrace every moment because time is precious with these people, especially since you all go to different schools and have different priorities.
Be thankful for the delicious food that you get. As a college student, it is a breath of fresh air eating something other than ramen, microwavable food, or the one meal that you make constantly that you get sick of, but continue to make it because it's all you know.
Be thankful for your time at home. Some people don't have a place to go home to during the holidays, and it is great that you have the opportunity to still be welcomed by your parents or your family. Embrace where you come from.
It's one of the best times of the yea that involves family, friends, good food, and good times. It needs to be embraced and not taken for granted.
Happy Thanksgiving
(PS...It's basically Christmas)
