So, I did a thing. I took my dogs to see Santa. When I told people my plans, they laughed at me and told me that it's a little strange but it's "Cat" so it's not too strange.
My reasoning for it is...well...why not? I got some family pictures, my dogs got attention from people and Santa, and we all had a lot of fun. What was there to lose besides a couple bucks? It was fun and I figured people take their human kids, so why couldn't I take my fur kids? Well, I could and so I did. And I don'r care what people thought.
The thing is I did what I wanted and I did my own thing and I guess that's my point. People will always try to make you feel bad or silly for doing something you want to do. Maybe it was weird or wasteful to take my fur babies to see Santa and pay $30 for pictures, but you know what?
I don't care.
I don't care because it is a memory I will cherish. My dogs aren't just dogs to me, but rather they are my kids, best friends, small body to cry on, they are always there to cheer me up and play. This moment meant a lot to me, while it may mean nothing to someone else.
I think people need to shut up sometimes and just let people do as they want because if it makes them happy, then they should do it. Even if it's taking your dogs to see Santa.
Here's a New Year resolution: Be as you are and don't let people hold you back from doing the things you want to do.
This year live your life as you want to and be your best, happiest self because you only have one life.
So go kiss that guy or girl you like.
Take your dogs to see Santa.
Play in the snow, even if you are "too old."
Don't take one moment for granted and do the silly things people won't understand. I promise you, it'll have you happier than if you hadn't.
Live for you, do what you want, and have some damn fun doing frivolous things.
