To His New Girl, Here's What You Should Know

You should know you need to watch out for him.

To His New Girlfriend,

You should know that he can't eat toast. Or toasted buns, or toasted bread. Often times he will forget and he is bound to order a burger that comes with a toasted bun and you'll find yourself speaking up to tell the waiter to not toast the bun because if it's toasted things wouldn't be good.

You should know he will do anything to make you happy or put a smile on your face. If there is an artist you are dying to see he will take you. Be careful what you say around him because if you accidentally let slip you want something you better believe you will have it.

You should know you need to watch out for him. Often times he is too busy doing everything for everyone else that he won't take care of himself. He will buy you or give you or get you whatever you need and not even bother to think about himself, just make sure he takes care of himself too.

You should know he needs to be reminded of things. His mind is constantly going and going and going and he won't take time to stop and remember. Sometimes you need to even remind him to eat something or to take medication.

You should know he hates shopping. God does he hate shopping. But if you want to go he will go without complaint and help you pick out whatever. But you will never ever see him buy something for himself. You might need to tell him to buy a new pair of shoes or new jeans because everything else he has is falling apart.

You should know he is very particular about his shoes and will fight you on getting a new pair. He had surgery on his foot and he needs certain shoes and they need to fit right so he can wear them.

You should know even though he may not seem like it. He used to be very close to God, he may have lost his way, but sometimes if you remind him it could help.

You should know he will love you everything. Literally everything. Don't doubt him. Trust him. Love him.

You should know his biggest pet peeve is when the discs aren't in the right DVD box. He hates it. He will literally drop everything just to correct it because it will bother him too much.

You should know his favorite movie is Freddie versus Jason. He absolutely loves that movie. He used to own some special disc set, but his ex stole one of the discs.

You should know he loves Superman.
You should know he will be your superman.

You should know he hates crowds. You will find in a crowded area he will come closer to you and hold you just a little closer and is constantly looking around.

You should know he will embarrass the crap out of you. Especially in public. And he will get on your every last nerve. He loves you and that's why he does it.

You should know he has been through a lot, but he loves you with every scarred piece he has.

You should know he loves you.

Sincerely,

The girl that knew too late

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
