The Love Your Melon company had one goal: to give a hat to every child in America who is battling cancer. 45,000 hats later, they created a new goal of donating one million dollars to pediatric cancer research and supplying support and resources for the children and their families.

Love Your Melon is an online apparel company, and 50 percent of the profit from your sale is donated to their non-profit partners.

They carry various pieces of apparel such as hats, beanies, scarves, shirts, etc. Just think, you buy all of these items anyway, so why not do that while supporting a great cause?

If you would like to become involved, even more, you are able to join the Love Your Melon crew on your college campus. By doing this, you are helping put the Love Your Melon name out there even more.

While working as a team, you are able to visit children in the hospital who are currently diagnosed with pediatric cancer.

Also, don't be afraid to create your own crew if your campus doesn't already have one! You can get started by going on www.loveyourmelon.com.

These children are already going through so much at such young ages, so why not make their day just a little better?

Last year, I personally had the opportunity to meet with a little girl who had been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia when she was only four years old.

She had told me the only thing she wanted was to be able to start school and go to kindergarten. Unfortunately, the day before she was supposed to start school was when she received her diagnosis, and so she was unable to start school the next day like she had wanted.

Although today she is still battling cancer, she is continuing to do so with the biggest smile on her face.

After hearing her story, it made all of my own personal problems seem so small. We often get caught up in our own busy lives and forget that there are much bigger things going in the world around us.

Activities that may seem so simple to us are the dreams of others.

Meeting with these children is such a humbling experience and quickly places everything into perspective. I strongly encourage you to become a part of the Love Your Melon group.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
