7 Reasons You Should Be Excited For Fall

Sweater weather here we come.

Summer is coming to an end and we're all kind of bummed.

The vacations are over and school shopping has started, but that is no reason to be sad. Fall aka the most wonderful time of the year (I don't care what that Christmas song says) is almost here!

That means sweaters will be pulled from closets, flip-flops will be replaced with boots, and bonfires will be going on everywhere. Here are seven more great reasons you should be excited about fall.

1. Cool Weather

Summer is great with so much free time from school and such, but let's face it, unless your plans involve water or air conditioning it can be too hot to actually enjoy yourself.

The cool fall temperatures and breezes make it perfect for corn mazes, going to pumpkin patches, and just enjoying outdoor time in general.

2. Hot Drinks

I'll be honest, I don't LOVE coffee like some people, but I enjoy it every now and then.

It blows my mind when I see people drinking hot anything in the summertime. I mean, you're already sweating on the outside, do you want to sweat on the inside too?

With the fall weather mentioned above, comes the perfect time for enjoying all those hot drinks (pumpkin flavored for those of you who go for that.)

3. Fall Colors

Don't get me wrong, everything in full bloom during summer id beautiful, but the hot weather makes everything grow faster which means more upkeep.

And with all that bloom comes those great allergies. In the fall, nothing is growing out of control, there isn't much pollen circulating, and the falling leaves make for great leaf piles. Plus we all know how good fall colors look in pictures.

4. Decorations

Fall is when all the cute home decorations start to pop up.

From the fall themed wreathes to spooky Halloween yards all leading up to Christmas decorations. It's easy to even put some decorations together from natural things you find around the yard like acorns and twigs.

5. New School Year

For most people this is more of a downer — I get it, being free all summer than having to go back to such a tight, busy schedule can suck.

Think of it this way though, it's a new year to make new friends, get better grades, and be one year closer to graduation. Then you're one year closer to being on your own (maybe that's scarier though.)

6. New and Returning TV Shows

With fall comes the end of new episode drought as most shows air new episodes in the fall and reruns play all summer. Well the wait for new TV is almost over so get ready to watch new and returning shows in the coming months.

You can also prepare for all those Halloween themed movie marathons (which are the best) and another high-stakes football season.

7. Halloween

Halloween is the best holiday and there's no way you can change my mind. It's spooky and exciting — getting to dress up for one night (or more) and having an awesome time with friends at great parties makes it a holiday like no other.

All the haunted houses and mazes are really fun activities and for some reason getting scared with all your buddies is sort of funny — it also makes for a great bonding experience. All that free candy makes it that much better.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
