A short ode to love,

Find someone who knows how you like your coffee, cream with no sugar. Someone who knows your favorite season, fall because of the yellow and orange trees. Someone who knows you will shove pretty shells in their pockets at the shore because your dress does not have them. Someone who stands up for what you believe in.

Someone who knows your astrological sign. Someone who can make you smile with little to no effort. Someone who knows you don’t need material items to be kept happy. Someone who knows you on your best and worst days. Someone you are comfortable telling anything and everything to.

Someone who does not scare you. Someone who knows you feel confident in makeup and accepts it. Someone who will wake up at absurd early hours in the A.M. to catch the sunrise. Someone who will rush to the beach with you to catch the sky burst with color. Someone to run through the rain with, that holds you tight to the loud sudden bursts of thunder that crash over the city’s skyline. Someone who enjoys views as much as you from one of the highest peaks in the area. Someone to lay out in the grass with blankets and find constellations.

Someone to hold hands with. Someone to give your love to unconditionally. Someone who will do anything to make it clear that they love you. Someone who knows that they are your first priority and that you expect the same. Someone who knows that the sound of the ocean hitting the jetty down by the bay is one of the few things to calm you down.

Someone who knows that silence is a blessing and curse. Someone to find a pretty flower and sticks it in your hair. Someone who calls you just to hear your voice. Someone to check in to see that you are doing well.

Someone to find joy in. Someone who accepts your hobbies as you accept theirs. Someone who calls you beautiful. Someone who respects you.

Someone who can talk to their friends with a tone, but would not dare to speak to you that way. Tell yourself that you will not fall in love with someone who will catch the sunset with you to only disappear by sunrise. Once you catch this certain someone, don’t lose them.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
