7 Things I'd Rather Do Than Go Back To School

I'm not excited for next semester.

Sadly it's about that time. Being at home is always fun and hopefully, a time to de-stress. But very soon I'm gonna have to go back to school. New professors that I may possibly hate. Another semester of stressing about your grades. I can think of a trillion other things I would rather be doing than going back to class. But this list will only be of seven things.

1. Sleep

Yes, I will sleep for days. For weeks. FOREVER. I will literally not wake up just so I won't have to go to class. Also obviously I really like sleep so why would I wake up if I don't have to. Also, when I have to get up for class, that is outrageous.

2. Research music festivals

I spent an entire three hours yesterday researching music festivals for this year and texting my friend. I was trying to figure out how I could afford it and where we would stay. Like I've all but planned a trip and I could stand to do a few more. Although I'm probably not going to actually go to a music festival, I can dream, can't I?

3. Listen to "Melodrama" on repeat

I mean yes, I basically do this daily anyway but still, it sounds a lot better than going to class. Like, Lorde changed my life before but she really changed me with this album. And I would rather listen to it than sit through someone droning on about things that I may not necessarily care about.

4. Search Amazon, perpetually

I promise you that I've wasted so many hours of my life just looking through all of the products that Amazon has to offer me. They literally have everything you could ever want. Do you know how much time and money I could and would rather waste on Amazon than I would in school?

5. Listen to records

I bought another record player because clearly, I hate myself and my bank account. But it was super cute so I kind of had to. Anyway, I love listening to records and it's such an experience. And I would much rather be enjoying myself than trying to keep myself awake in the middle of the day in class.

6. Hangout with my friends

I've come to appreciate having friends lately. Once upon a time, I felt really lonely but I realized that with the support of my friends I can do anything. Besides, they're just wonderful people to be around and to make me happy and to avoid doing work.

7. Online shopping

Mainly I just mean Forever 21 because that's where all of my clothes come from. I just love clothes and looking at things I don't mean. I am one of those people who have at least five items in their cart or shopping bag at stores at all times. Did I mention how much I love shopping because I do? And I'd much rather be in my room blasting music and looking for new sweaters and music tees instead of stressing over classwork.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
