Mom,

You’ve been there through it all and I don't know how I would be standing here as the young woman I am today without you. You’ve given up so much for me and you do so much. There is so much that you do that I am so grateful for but I don't know if I have ever properly thanked you for.

So, thank you for…

1. Choosing me.

You were still in college when you found out you were going to be having me and you chose to raise me, put all of your attention on me, and put your schooling on hold... For ME. I could have never asked you to do that, but you did it on your own.

2. Giving my siblings and me the best lives you possibly could.

Even though you never wanted us to worry, you put on a brave face, but I could still see you struggling. You worked two jobs and at one point, I think three jobs in order to give us everything we needed and wanted.

3. Being not just my mom but also a friend.

I think it's safe to say that you are absolutely my best friend. You know every single detail about me, good and bad, and you accept me for who I am.

4. Taking the time to actually sit down and get to know me, not just as your daughter, but as a person.

For taking the time to listen to what I have to say and for letting me know that my opinions matter and teaching me to stand up for what I believe in, because you taught me that if I want something hard enough or if I want to make a change, I need to go after it and to not let anyone stand in my way.

5. Dealing with me when I'm stressed out.

Trust me, I know I am not the easiest person to deal with when I am stressed and freaking out. But, you always have a way of letting me know that everything is going to be okay and calm me down (I think everyone thanks you for that… Sorry I'm a handful sometimes).

6. Always knowing how to make me laugh.

I swear, sometimes you are my main source of entertainment.

7. Treating my friends as if they were one of your own.

One thing I want you to know is that not only do I appreciate you, but so do they. They always know that they can come to you if they have a problem and know that you will listen to what they have to say and that you will help them solve their problem.

These are just a few of the things I am grateful for that you have done for me, the list can go on and on and I can't thank you enough for these things. Mom, I love you so much and I don't know what I would do without you!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
