As someone who is constantly looking for new ways to give back to my community and beyond, a well as a lover of all things adventure and travel, and frocket advocate, a new brand has caught my eye.
Serengetee is an exclusively online brand that sells custom clothes and accessories made from different fabrics found around the world. By donating 10 percent of their profits to a diverse group of causes, Serengetee is an adventurous but awarding company.
It all started back in 2012 when Jeff and Ryan met on a study abroad trip. After collecting different fabrics from Asia, Africa, and Central America, the pair found a way to put the fabrics to good use, while also making a difference. With their limited college student budget, and no fashion experience, they began making, selling, and shipping pocket tee's out of their dorm room. This was the beginning of Serengetee.
Featured on Forbes.com, Huffington Post, RYOT.org, and supported by Teen Wolf star, Tyler Posey, Serengetee is among the fastest growing clothing companies in the world!
To add on to the many jobs they provide in poverty-stricken areas of the world, Serengetee gives high school and college students the opportunity to be a "campus representative" and gain sales and marketing experience along the way. By representing Serengetee through wearing their clothes, social media, and word of mouth, this is a fun and beneficial experience for students to gain important skills for future jobs. At the end of the semester, every rep makes a "final project," portraying Serengetee in their own unique and creative way. The winner gets to go to Guatemala with the founders to help find the next fabric and charity.
With almost 200 unique fabric choices, 27 different shirts and accessories, and 21 amazing causes to support, you're bound to find something that suits your style and something you're passionate about. Whether it's "Speak Now" benefiting Autism research on a red sweatshirt, or "Maui" on a 5-panel hat to build schools in other countries, you can "Wear The World" with pride.
