During the holiday season, college women's pockets are getting lighter and lighter.

Suddenly you find yourself wanting to treat yourself, and then you find yourself using every last cent you have for your super fancy foundation that you've been wanting to get for three months. It's no shocker that Sephora costs a pretty penny, but at least there are ways to beat around the huge price tags.

Make sure to follow the tips and tricks below to ensure a bit less of loss this holiday season!

1. Get your Sephora Insider card, fast!

Everybody knows rewards cards can't hurt, even though some are strictly credit cards. You're in luck, because Sephora's rewards cards are only point and merit-based, meaning the more you spend, the more points you accumulate. Wait for days that are "five points every dollar" rather than the original 1:1 point system that happens when sales aren't around.

2. Order online for three free samples!

Ordering online can always be a drag, especially being that many times it takes a long time to get the shipment in. However, with every order, Sephora offers three free samples for you to try, as well as shipping for any order over a specific dollar amount. These free samples could range from perfume to eyeshadow to lipstick, so they definitely cost something!

3. Sign up for Insider Rewards and receive a free makeover!

When shoppers who accumulate the VIB Rouge level at Sephora come into the store, they are able to get a free makeover from one of their stylists. Not only do you get to have free luxury products on your face, but you get to be guided amongst the dozens of brands they have available with a stylist, and also someone who can help you choose what brand is right for you.

4. VIB members get free stuff on their birthday!

No one hates the idea of getting free stuff on their birthday. With a purchase made on your birthday month, you get access to a free gift. This past year they gave away Smashbox contour kits ranging in price between $20-30.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
