Senior Year Second Semester

As Told By Cats.

43
Senior Year Second Semester

The G-Word is approaching, and as a second semester senior, you're not ready to leave, but you also have no motivation to do anything. You like to stay awake at night, run around, party, and then sleep until it is time to do it all over again. Whether you are proud to admit it or not, you may have a lot more in common with cats than you think.

For starters, you put limited effort into getting ready in the morning, because you just don't care anymore.

You have one facial expression, and one facial expression only, when you're at a frat party.

You're drinking to celebrate people getting jobs, you're drinking to mourn your college career, you're drinking because you can. You stay drinking.

Which means you're also probably spilling stuff everywhere.

And I mean everywhere.

You've learned that dancing doesn't have to consist of twerking and dropping it like it's hot. You just have to let loose and have fun.

You and your group of friends are soaking up as much quality time as possible. When you go out with your friends, you only hang out with your friends.

Even though you spend a lot of time drinking like your liver can still handle it, you've also transformed into a grandma/grandpa, and you can fall asleep instantly.

When you aren't sleeping, or partying, you're forcing yourself to apply for jobs, and pretend like you're ready to be a real person.

And when you get an interview, you can't help but act like an excited little kid again.

When you get that first job offer, you kind of feel like the King of the Jungle.

Life hasn't been all fun and games, though. You've shed a tear, or a thousand, about having to leave this wonderful place you have grown to call home.

You're acting like a scaredy cat about your future and starting your career.

You constantly think about how much you're going to miss your crew, and all the socially unacceptable things you do for each other.

You may not be ready to move on, but you do know that you've had the best 4 years of your life, and you can't wait to see where your other 8 lives will take you.

But in the meantime, you think you'll just take a nap.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
