So it's that time of year again. The night air gets a little colder, the leaves will soon start to change color, it's probably a good idea to try to get your sleeping schedule back on track, and the store shelves are filled with pens, binders, paper, and lunch bags. You guessed it. It's back to school time. However, these last few weeks of August are a little different than before.
Because this is your last "back to school time."
It's the last time you'll have to remember your schedule, the last time you'll have to pick out the first day of class outfit, the last time you'll have to guess how much homework will be thrown at you.
It's the last time you'll buy a new composite book, a new pencil case, a new parking pass, and a new set of textbooks. It's bittersweet to be honest. It's exciting but at the same time, absolutely terrifying.
And one thing for sure, senior year is about to hit us all like a train.
We all knew this day would come, but who could have imagined at just how fast it would arrive! It seems like just a few weeks ago it was time to move into those awful freshman dorms and experiencing the craziness that is college for the very first time. Senior year seemed like a lifetime away. It's scary to think just how fast the 3 years have flown by. How fast will this year pass us by? Soon enough it'll be the day that we put on those caps and gowns, walk across the stage, and say goodbye to what we will look back on as some of the best years of our lives! It sounds cliche, I know. But before we know it, we will be wishing we could sleep in until class at 11, wishing we were still living in crappy college housing, and wishing we still had endless sleepovers with our roomies.
But the end of college does mean one thing for sure, we are all about to embark on a new and even crazier adventure. The big and bad real world! Right now, it may be time for us to get ready for our last "first day of school," but it's also the time to start looking towards our future careers. Not just a summer job like before, but a real career path, somewhere you want to grow, and prosper, somewhere you will use all of that knowledge you've gained since the first day of preschool. This is it! So to all of us college students, that senior year will hit hard, enjoy it! Have as much fun as you possibly can, but also use this time to get yourself prepared for your future career, and most importantly cherish all of the memories. Because it will be over before we all know it.
