Every current senior right now is more than over the college conversations and simply because of the fear of the unknown. This time last year was when exciting acceptance letters were rolling in, but also disappointing rejection letters. It was a time when life messed with my brain and often confused it more than I thought could be possible. If only I knew certain things at this point last year...
So to all the current seniors:
Take a deep breath. It will all work out for the best even though that is hard to envision right now. Despite having a dream school since birth, those don't always work out. Wherever you end up is meant to be.
Picturing life a year from now is also so hard. Who will be your best friend that you latch onto at homecoming? Who will be your go to when something goes wrong? Who will you call first when you receive exciting news? Do not worry. You will find your people and things will fall into place.
While receiving college envelopes, just remember that everything happens for a reason. In the near future, make your big, tough college decision and from there just let things fall into place.
I wish someone had told me that everything would work out and genuinely mean it because truthfully, that is just the way it works.
