5. Live in the moment.

Senior year is huge, even as a student who has an automatic fifth year. It's the last year with all your freshman friends and the last chance to make those memories before beginning your big-girl job.

I've experienced close to everything at Longwood so far, but there are still a few things on my senior bucket list I'm anxious to try.

1. Drinks at Catbird.

Catbird is the new(ish) rooftop bar on top of Hotel Weyanoke and I've been anxious to try it out since they opened!

2. Go to the bridge on High Bridge.

I've walked High Bridge Trail multiple times, but I've never been to the bridge itself. I'd love to get some pictures taken out there this fall.

3. Convocation.

I'm excited to see what my friend makes for me that captures my college experience in addition to kicking off senior year with my friends.

4. Go to some basketball games (or some sporting events in general).

Just as something fun to do to embrace LU spirit.

5. Live in the moment.

I have a really bad habit of looking towards the future so much that I often forget to just live in the moment and enjoy what's going on. I want to enjoy my senior year, take in the little things, and enjoy myself.

6. Don't get caught up in the petty drama or negativity.

There can be so much drama and pettiness going on when you get groups together (particularly groups of girls) for an extended period of time. I want to focus on making this a very positive, enjoyable year.

7. Go apple picking with friends.

Fall is my absolute favorite season so I'm looking forward to making some fall memories with friends!

While this time is super emotional, I'm beyond excited to start making more memories and experiencing new things.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
