7 Things That Will Pop In Mind When You Are A High School Senior

Life is going by fast, and many of us realize how fast it has gone by when we are seniors.

Wait... How old am I?

Sweetie, you're 18 or going to be 18. I know that qualifies as an adult. So, now we might start having more responsibilities like paying taxes. But, hey we are officially adults Gen Z.

Ugh ... I have been in high school for 4 years. What is my senior quote gonna be?

Guys, I know we are so many things and we want to say about what we learned these past few years. Sometimes it's funny or witty or straight up savage. But, this will require great thought. Don't worry, you still got the rest of the school year to think about it.

I am going off to college soon.

Senior year is fulling of college apps and finding whether we get into our dream school. But, we forget that we have to learn to do everything by ourselves. We will be moving into college, so life is not going to be easy cause we have to adjust ourselves to a new environment.

I am the top dog in the school.

Let's be honest here! Since, freshman year of high school, we have looked upon senior year as the best year of high school. It's so awesome to be a senior because we get all this attention since we are almost done with high school.

My childhood passed before my eyes.

The saddest thing we think about when we are high school seniors is the fact that we remember that we were toddlers playing tag with our friends just yesterday. We are not kids anymore, and we realize later that we should've cherished every moment in our life. The song Seventeen by Alessia Cara is a perfect example of this.

I have to prepare for the future now.

Majors, internships, jobs, and all other parts of college life are pressurizing to feel like we need to make every step forth correct so that way we lead a better life down the road. Some of us start feeling like high school seniors because either we learn a trade or go to college to develop a strong career later down the road.

I need to relax.

The constant pressure of everything on us at the moment is foreboding now matter what we do. We constantly have to finish something over another thing. Rest assured, please don't take everything too stressful in life. There are ups and downs, but in the end, we need to go with the flow.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
