The beginning of the semester means the beginning of a multitude of things; classes starting again, nights filled with homework (and no sleep), and all of the emotions that come along with being a student in college. This is a semester in college as told by the cast "Gossip Girl."

1. Week one:

You're feeling great. You are back at school and you feel like you have all of your stuff together. This semester is going to be great and there is nothing stressful happening yet.

2. Classes start:

BAM! Classes hit you right in the face. Out of no where, everything starts too tumble downhill.

3. Party time:

Even if the typical college party isn’t your cup of tea, after the first phase of classes you need a way to forget about the overwhelming thoughts and responsibilities.

4. Mistakes:

Maybe your first night out wasn’t the best idea, or not buying the textbook in time has you thinking “What’s wrong with me?”

5. You get your first test grade back:

Things didn’t go as planned and you feel like your life may or may not be over.

6. The middle of the semester:

You have held it together for the most part but now that you are about half way through, your real feelings are starting to shine through. You have a week’s worth of homework to finish all in one night, you haven’t had a full night’s sleep since you came back to school, and you are slowly running out of meal plan money.

7. Determination:

After you have a mid-semester crisis, you pick yourself up again and start to pump your self up to get through to winter break. Nothing can stop you now.

8. Just Kidding:

A week later things get hard again and you are pretty much just annoyed at the fact that you still have weeks until the end of your misery.

9. The week before finals:

“I have no idea what’s going on.”

“I don’t know what to do.”

“I’m going to fail and there is nothing I can do about it.”

10. After finals:

You did it! Somehow you did it! You passed and now you get to go home and not think about school for another month!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register.
